BOROUGH COUNCIL NOTICES iOROUGH OF NEWMARKET. LOCAL AUTHORITIES EMPOWERING (RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT) ACT, 1926, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT LOANS BOARD ACT, 1926. Notice is hereby given that the Newmarket Borough Council proposes, at a Special Meeting, to be held in the Council Chambers, Broadway, at 10 a.m. on THURSDAY, the 26th day of September, 1929, to consider the confirmation of the following resolution relating to the proposal to borrow the sum of One thousand pounds (£1,000) for the relief of unemployment, passed at a Special Meeting of the Council held for that purpose on Monday, the 16th day of September, 1929, “That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926. and its amendments, and the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926. and regulations thereunder, and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Newmarket Borough Council, with the object of providing work for men who are unemployed, hereby authorises the raising of a special loan of One Thousand Pounds (£1,000) for the purpose of carrying out the following works:— (a) Relaying Watermains in Carlton Road and Maungawhau Road £2OO (b) Alterations to roadway near Reserve in Broadway, including setting back footway and rockery to new alignment and widening concrete roadway £250 (c) Completing the surfacing of Sarawai Street and the excavation and formation of Railway Terrace to new levels, including the provision of necessary retaining walls . £530 (d) Administrative costs (Printing debentures and raising Loan) £2O £I,OOO That the security shall be a Special Rate sufficient to cover interest and sinking fund charges as required by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments; that the currency of the loan be for a period not exceeding 30 years; that the interest be at a rate not exceeding ssi per centum per annum; and that a sinking fund of not less than I£< per centum be established. Any person having any objection to the raising of the said loan is called upon to submit same in writing to the Town Clerk, not later than the day preceding the said meeting. H. WILSON, Town Clerk.
