FIRE IN LAUNDRY

HOSPITAL PREMISES OUTBREAK AT TE KUITI From Our Or cn Correspondent TE KUITI, Tuesday. Through a clothes rack falling on to a stove, the laundry at the Te Kuiti Hospital on Monday was set on fire. By a coincidence, the fire brigade superintendent, Mr. J. Henderson, and his son, were on the hospital premises when the alarm was given by an attendant. The room, containing several racks of clothing, was well alight when the three men reached the seat of the outbreak. They hurriedly formed a bucket brigade and quickly subdued the flames. A quantity of clothing was destroyed, but otherwise the damage was not serious. Lack of water for fire-fighting purposes at the hospital has given the authorities some concern .
