APPRENTICES IN N.Z.
NEARLY TEN THOUSAND (THE SUli’S Parliamentary Reporter j PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Tuesday. There are nearly 10,000 apprentices registered in New Zealand. That information was contained in a return | laid on the table of the House of Representatives this afternoon. The exact number is 9.943. The number of journeymen and working employers for whom apprentices are allowed is 31.773, so that the proportion of journeymen to apprentices is three point two to one. If employers engaged the full quota of apprentices allowed under the law there would be 19,931 in New Zealand
