Miss Mildred Russell, of Christchurch, has left Tor Auckland. She intends staying a few days here before going to Sydney. * * * Mrs. Arthur Cahill, of Kenny Road, Remuera, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. G. L. Evans, in Gisborne, returned home on Saturday. Miss A. B. McFee, administrator of the Toe H League of Women's Helpers, London, will arrive in New Zealand in a few weeks’ time. The purpose of her visit is tho establishment of a league in tho Dominion, Wellington having already begun the work.

WAIKATO NOTES Mrs. J. Williams, of Claudelands, has left for a visit to Christchurch. Miss A. Brewster has returned to New Plymouth from a visit to Hamilton. Mr. Wyn Brown and his daughter, Miss Addie Brown, of Cambridge, are at present in Rotorua. HAiIILTOX CROQUET' CLUE The Hamilton Croquet Club held its annual meeting on Saturday in the pavilion. The president, Mrs. H. Howden, was in the chair. The reports read by the secretary and the treasurer showed that the past year had been successful socially and financially. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. PI. Howden; vice-presidents, Mrs. E. M. Masters and Mrs. L. Kheppard; hon. secretary, Mrs. York; hon. treasurer. Mrs. G. Seifert; committee, Mrs. Salter, Mrs. Earle, Mrs. Wilks, Mrs. Scrimshaw and Miss Prentis. PRANKTON CROQUET CLUB At the annual meeting of the Frankton Croquet Club the report and balance sheet were very satisfactory. The following members were elected: —Patron, Mr. W. Higgins; president, Mrs. Roberts; vice-presidents, Mrs. Speedy, Mrs. Frost, Mrs. Buckland, Mrs. Glover, Mrs. Belgrave and Mrs. Pliggins; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Rockell; committee, Mrs. Middleton, Mrs. Andrew, Mrs. Benz, Mrs. Wigzell, Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Carroll; match committee, Mrs. Bartlett, Mrs. Belgrave, Mrs. Brocklesby and Mrs. Benz. Mrs. Belgrave and Mrs. O’Brien were appointed delegates to the South Auckland Croquet Association. Mrs. Pliggins, the founder of the club and ever one of its enthusiastic members, was elected a life member.

SOCIAL AND DANCE WAITEMATA WOMEN’S PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE In order to raise funds for the furtherance of its social activities in the district, the Waitemata Women’s Progressive League held another of its series of dances in Baly’s flail, Takapuna, last evening. The floor was well filled with dancers who “tripped the light fantastic” to excellent music dispensed by Aliss Baly’s Orchestra. The committee responsible for the details of a very successful function consisted of Mrs. A. PI. Wilkie, president; Airs. J. A. Algie, secretary; Airs. G. Kicks, Airs. Alow, Mrs. Hodgkinson. Airs. Bestic, Mrs. Aughton and Airs. Carter. Buring the evening songs were contributed by Alessrs. Percy Wright and Cork.
