Killed While Blasting William Arthur Eves, a married man living in Gisborne, was killed at Waioeka Valley this morning while engaged in blasting operations. The effect of the shot was apparently more severe than had bcien anticipated and Eves was struck on the head by flying metal, dying a few minutes later. T.a uranga Workshop Gutted An outbreak of Fire occurred at 12.45 p.m. in a workshop and storeroom situated in Cameron Road, Tauranga. The ‘ occupier was Mr. A. E. Jones, nursery gardener. As a result of a delay in giving the alarm, the Are had a firm hold before the brigade arrived. The building was gutted and the contents 1 destroyed. | .
