PALESTINE DISORDERS
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY NAMED FOUR INVESTIGATORS British Official Wireless RUGBY, Saturday. The Colonial Secretary, Lord Passfield, has appointed the following members of Parliament to serve under the chairmanship of Sir Walter Shaw, formerly Chief Justice of the Straits Settlements, on a Commission of Inquiry into the recent disturbances in Palestine: Sir Henry Betterton (Conservative), formerly Parliamentary Secretary for Labour, Mr. Hoplcin Morris (Liberal), Mr. Henry Snell (Labour). The terms of reference for the commission are:—To inquire into the immediate causes of the recent outbreak and to make recommendations as to the steps necessary to avoid a recurrence. The date of the commission’s departure for Palestine has not been definitely fixed, but it is hoped it will sail toward the end of this month or early in October.
