HOUSE BURNED DOWN
DUNEDIN FIRE Press Association DUNEDIN, Sunday. The fire brigade was called out at 2.15 yesterday morning to two houses in Royal Crescent, Musselburgh. The first house. No. 65, was totally destroyed, while the second, No. 63a, was scorched and bilstered on one side. The cause of the fire is unknown. No. 63a was owned and occupied by Mr. Evans, and the building was insured in the Phoenix Office for £550, and in the Atlas Office for £I.OOO. The contents were insured in the Atlas Office for £250. The owner of No. 65 was Mr. J. Mackay, who had sub-let to Mr. O'Neill and Mr. Galt. Mr. Mackay’s house was insured in the Phoenix Office for £SOO, and the contents in the same office for £3OO. Mr. O’Neill had his personal effects insured in the Standard Office for £l5O, but Mb Galt’s belongings, valued at £75, were uninsured.
