PERSONAL. —Captain F. L. G. Jaunay has been appointed to command of the Kawatiri. Captain A. Reed is at present awaiting orders. Mr. C. Burgess has been appointed chief officer of the Narbada, relieving Mr. C. Strong, who has reverted to the position of second officer. Mr. L. A. English has joined the vessel as third officer. Mr. A. S. Harrhy and H. E. Petre have signed off the vessel, and are standing by at Wellington. Mr. W. Wiggins has joined the Tamahine as chief engineer in place of Mr. O. H. Dillner, who is on holiday leave. Mr. W. S. Hall has joined the Waikouaiti as chief engineer. Mr. A. Paterson is joining the Narbada as second engineer in place of Mr. J. W. Burdis. Mr. A. P. Train has joined the Kurow as third engineer, relieving Mr.* J. T. Smith for holiday leave. KAIRANGA WITH COAL. —The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the collier Kairanga is at present loading coal at Port Kembla and later fills up at Newcastle for Auckland. KAIAPOI FROM TASMANIA. —Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the steamer Kaiapoi leaves Melbourne on Wednesday for Devonport, Tasmania, to fill up for Auckland. CANADIAN CONQUEROR REPORTED.—En route from Auckland to New York, Boston and London, the Canadian National steamer Canadian Conqueror is reported to have reached Panama last Thursday. She sailed from Auckland on August 13. PLUME LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO.— The Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Plume is reported to have cleared San Francisco last Thursday with a bulk oil cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about October S. AORANGI AT SYDNEY. —The Royal Mail liner Aorangi reached Sydney from Auckland at 5 o'clock on Saturday morning. On her return voyage to Vancouver the vessel is scheduled to leave Sydney on Thursday and Auckland the following Tuesday. POOLTA WITH TlMßEß. —According to cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company, the steamer Poolta, from Grafton and Port Stephens, left Newcastle at 4 p.m. last Friday for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday. The vessel is bringing a cargo of timber for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Bluff. TREDINNICK FROM NEW YORK. — Running under charter to the A. and A. Line the Tredinnick is reported to have cleared New* York on September S for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is scheduled to reach Auckland on October 14. The New Zealand Shipping Company are the local agents. DUE WEDNESDAY.— The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi is expected to arrive at Auckland on Wednesday from the Cook Islands. On Thursday she sails again for Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Atiu and Mauke. She has been allotted a berth at the King’s Wharf. MAUI POMARE REPORTS. —A radio message has been received by Spedding, Limited, that the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare is expected to arrive at Auckland at daylight tomorrow from Norfolk Island. She will berth at the King’s Wharf to land her ~rs, mails and cargo. On September 24 leaves Auckland for Niue Island and Apia, Samoa.
