MUNICIPAL BAND AT ZOO

VARIED PROGRAMME GIVEN An excellent musical programme was given by the Auckland Municipal Band before a large audience at the Zoological Park yesterday afternoon. The overture from “Jubel,” by Weber, was followed by a number of selections, which included the finale from the Fourth Symphony (Tschaicowsky) and Ketelby’s popular intermezzo, “Bells Across the Meadow.” A euphonium solo. “The Village Blacksmith,” was given by Mr. J. Purchase, and Mr. Fred Bowes played the cornet solo, “Souvenir de Bellini.”
