WILL CARRY OWN GARAGE FOR AMERICAN MARKET When the Baby Austin motor-car enters the American market it may find a rival American infant in active competition, says the “Daily Mail." From Garden City, Long Island, comes the story of a tiny car, unique in invention and remarkable in performance, whose market price would be only £4O. The inventor, Mr. James V. Martin, of the Marin Airplane Factory, is seeking Wall Street co-operation to finance the youngster, which, he considers, could be distributed admirably by one of the large mail order houses that flourish in America. Like the snail it would carry its own hoqje, for the crate in which this midget would be packed is a weatherproof garage. All the owner need do is to keep the crate and lift the car in or pull it out. The car consists of a body, engine, and four wheels, but no chassis. Each wheel is independently mounted and is suspended on a rubber contrivance such as is used for airplane wheels. Passengers who have ridden in the demonstration car state that they were not jolted from the seat although the car travelled at 50 miles an hour over a rough road. It seats two people, weighs 6001 b, and i 3 equipped with a four-cylinder air-cooled engine. Its inventor says it will do 50 miles on a gallon of petrol.
