MOTOR-CAR IN FLAMES

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE Extensive damage was caused to a motor-car, driven by Mr. E. Yardley, of 15 Malvern Road, Morningside, and owned by Mr. A. E. Ward, of Little Queen Street, as the result of the flooring underneath the driver's seat catching alight when driving down Princess Aveenue, off Dominion Road, shortly before 8 o’clock last evening. The Mount Roskill Fire Brigade was summoned and found the car burning fiercely. When the flames had been extinguished, it was found that the bodywork and upholstery were almost completely destroyed, although the engine was found to be intact. The car was incured for £65.
