The AUCKLAND REGIMENT'S FIRST COLOURS. —Bishop W. G. Cowie, Primate of New Zealand, blesses the first colours to be presented to the Auckland Regiment after it was formed in 1890. The three officers waiting to receive the standards are. from left to right: Captain (later Colonel; C. Major. Lieutenant R. G. Cox and Captain (now Colonel) W. B. White. On Bishop Cowie's right is Lieutenant-Colonel T. L. Murray. O.C. Auckland Battalion, and behind him is Colonel Pole Fenton. O.C. New Zealand Forces. Also in the picture are Lord and Lady Ranfurly, Sir John Logan Campbell, Archdeacon Mac Murray and Colonel A. Monow.
