FEILDING STOCK SALE
Press Association FEILDING, Friday. At the stock sale today there was a large yarding of fat cattle, principally from Hawke's Bay. The market was obstinate, reserves being too high, and most lines were passed in. Fat sheep slightly improved, especially ewes. Dairy cattle sold readily at good prices. Fat hoggets shorn brought, 395; Pliropshlres, 255; woolly, primest, 31s to 35s i)d; good, 26s 6d to 2Ss 6d; medium, 20s 2d to 26s fid; ewes, primest, 31s to 34s 2d; good, 28s 7d to 295; medium, 23s to 275; wethers, primest, 3fis; good, 30s fid to 35s 3d; stores, wether hoggets, small, 14s 9d; best, 25s to 27s 4d; black-faced, 22s 4d. Many lines were passed. Ewe hoggets, black-faced, made ISs 6d to 25s 3d; ewes with lambs, 32s to 3Ss Id. Fat Cattle.—Jersey cows made £5 to £7 10s; fat Hereford-Shorthorn-cross heifers. £l3 15s (equal to 42s a 1001 b.); light fat. cows, £5 to £7 10s; heavy to £l2; fat steers. £4 ISs to £5 16s. Dairy cattle: Best quality springing heifers made £l2 5s to £l4; good lines, £S 15s to £11; inferior, £5 7s fid to £$ 10s: springing cows, £S to £9.
