MINERS AND OWNERS
BRITISH WORKERS WANT JOINT MEETING APPEAL TO EMPLOYERS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Friday. The executive of the Miners* Federation has invited the coalmine owners to reconsider their refusal to agree to a national joint meeting. It has urged that it is necessary in view of the termination of the agreements and pending legislation, which, will affect all sections of the industry. Mr. A. J. Cook, general secretary of the Federation, says the executive is firm for a national agreement. The "Daily Herald" says that unless the owners agree to the joint meeting the Government will be urged to ensure it being held.
