SUGGESTED TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, was asked in the House of Representatives by Mr. W. Lee Martin (Raglan) whether it was the intention of the Government to extend the term of office of the pres- | ent Director-General of Agriculture, Mr. C. J. Reakes, for a further period of five years, and, if so, would the Minister, before taking that step, give serious consideration to the request j of farmers' organisations and others, ! and appoint a competent bacteriologist and pathologist as head of the department. i Mr. Forbes replied that the Gov- | ernment had not considered the quesi tion raised.
