DANGERS OF GLASS
NEGLECT AFTER ACCIDENTS MOTORISTS’ CONCERN The dangers of glass on the highways was discussed by the A.A.A. at last evening’s meeting. A member wrote stating that motorists involved in collisions frequently made no effort to remove broken glass from the roads. Recently he had seen four men holding a consultation over two vehicles which had collided on the Great South Road. There was a good deal of glass scattered on the road, but after both vehicles had been removed there was no attempt to clear the glass from the highway. Mr. H. Butcher said there was fresh glass almost every day at the corner of Gillies Avenue and Epsom Avenue. The parties usually could not agree as to responsibility for the accident, so the glass was left to do damage. It was decided to bring the nuisance under the notice of members.
