TWO NEW TALKIES The fine double-feature talkie programme now at the Roxy Theatre will be screened* for the last time this evening. The films are “The Leatherneck,” an exciting and powerful drama of adventure in China, starring William Boyd, also “Geraldine/* a delightful comedy-drama of modern youth, starring Marion Nixon’ From tomorrow the Roxy will screen an entirely new programme, which will include two more full-length talkies. Lovers of virile screen drama should not miss seeing “Strange Cargo,” a dramatic P.D.C., completely talking picture, which will be the first attraction tomorrow. It is a remarkable, thrilling screen drama. The story tells of a mysterious murder at sea and the action is swift-moving and effective.
Overseas .critics who have seen this gripping murder mystery, “Strange Cargo,” judge it to be one of the best pictures of recent months. The story is set aboard a palatial pleasure yacht a thousand miles at sea and is portrayed by a cast that includes many of the best known names on the Broadway stage. Among the players are Lee Patrick, George Barraud, Kyrle Bellew, June Nash, Russel Gleason. Frank Reicher, Ned Sparks, Claude King, Andre Beranger, Otto Matiesen, Warner Richmond. Josephine Brown, Carles Hamilton and Harry Allen.
The second attraction tomorrow will be a parttalkie with singing and musical accompaniment entitled “The Office Scandal.” This is a great newspaper story, interpreted by a strong cast, which includes Phyllis Haver, Ray-
