SNOW IN CANTERBURY
COLD KILLS SPRING LAMBS (Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Snow fell on the higher levels in Canterbury on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday morning the hills were covered to a point well down their slopes. Bad weather came from the south-west, and it is reported that the roid weather, combined with the snow, caused heavy losses of early lambs. Yesterday was fine, and the snow quickly disappeared from everywhere except the tops.
