CRICKET AT TURUA
FUSION OF CLUBS From Our Own Correspondent NGATEA, Today. Owing to the departure from the districts of so many of their members both the Turua and the Orongo Cricket Clubs have found that, they are too weak to carry on for the coming season and at a meeting at Turua on Tuesday evening it was agreed to unito under the name of the Turua Club. Officers appointed were as follow: President, Mr. J. Mules; chairman, Mr. J. Tynan; secretary, Mr. G. Jenkins; club captain, Mr. K. S. Graham; vice-captain, Air. G. Jenkins; ‘delegates to the Huuraki Plains Cricket Association, .Messrs. J. Tynan, G. MeCowatt and C. Pierce; selectors, Messrs. J. Corbett and K. S. Graham; umpires, Messrs. J. Tynan and J. Corbett; and committee, Messrs. K. S. Graham, A. H. Sutton, C. McCormick, G. McCowatt. A. I-louton and M. Dando. Membership fee was fixed at 10s for seniors and 5s for juniors if paid by December 33. otherwise 15s and 7s Cd. The grading of players was left to the selectors and the arranging of practice matches to the committee.
