TWO LOANS SANCTIONED

WAITEMATA POWER BOARD Sanction to raise two loans was granted the Waitemata ElectricPower Board at a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board held in Wellington yesterday. One loan of £B,OOO is the statutory 10 per cent, supplementary loan of an £BO,OOO reticulation extension loan approved by the ratepayers in 1927, while the other loan is for an amount of £IOO,OOO. This is to be used for general extensions to the board’s system, and it is the board’s intention to ask the ratepayers’ authority by poll to the raising of the amount toward the end of the present year. If the poll is carried it is intended to raise £30,000 of this amount at once, and the balance of £70,000 after submission to the Local Government Loans Board.
