Mr. A. L. O’Brien left by the Aorangi last evening on a visit to Sydney. Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. A. E. Ilefford, Inspector of Fisheries. arrived in Auckland this morning by the .Limited. Mr. H. A. ( I Auckland this* morning by the Limited from Wellington. The Hon. W. Stewart, the lion. C. J. Carrington, and the lion. G. J. Garland. members of the Legislative Council, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. R. !->. McFarland, of Hamilton, was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Ostler in Hamilton yesterday on the motion of Mr. H. T. Gillies. Mr. F. W. Burley, of Hamilton, who has retired from business after 20 years in Hamilton, was presented yesterday by his staff with a leather dressing-case. Mrs. Burley was given a leather travelling case. Mr. L. A. Davidson, who has been relieving Rev. X. O. White on the Northern Wairoa Presbyterian Circuit since the latter’s departure on a trip to England. will leave New Zealand shortly to take up missionary work in Abyssinia. Dr. A. W. Izard, who has been absent for six months, has returned to Wellington from England. While in London he investigated the question of ex-servicemen’s pensions, on which he ■will submit a report to the Government. Mr. W. J. Holdswortli, chairman of the Auckland Power Board, travelled to Wellington by train last evening.
