MAKURA FOR SYDNEY.— The Union Steam Ship Company’s vessel Makura, at present berthed at Queen's Wharf, is to be dispatched for Sydney at 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon. MAHENO AT WELLINGTON. The Union Steam Ship Company has been advised that the inter-colonial passenger steamer Maheno arrived at Wellington from Sydney at 8.45 a.m. yesterday. At noon on Friday she is sailing on the return trip. POOLTA DELAYED. — At present at Newcastle loading timber for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Bluff, the Union Company’s steamer Poolta has been hampered in her work by rain, and it is no. possible for her to sail for New Zealand before tomorrow. CITY OF LINCOLN TO SAIL.— At present at Queen’s Wharf unloading cargo from New York, the Ellerman and Bucknail steamer City of Lincoln is to leave at daybreak tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharging. HORORATA TO ARRIVE.— The New Zealand Shipping Company’s vessel Hororata is expected to leave Wellington on Friday afternoon for Auckland to complete loading for New York, Boston, Halifax and London. She is due here on Sunday. CANADIAN CHALLENGER SAILING. —The local office of the Canadian National Steamships advises that the Canadian Challenger, at present at Prince’s Wharf discharging cargo from Montreal and Sydney (Cape Breton Island), is to sail early this evening for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin, to complete unloading.
