On the Randwick tracks today the New Zealand horses Night March and Nedda galloped a sterling mile in 1.42, with the flags out 20 feet. Paquito did a mile on the tan in 1.435, and left Arikanui well behind. Winalot had the best of Mollison by a length over nine furlongs in 1.56*. Limerick took 1.30 for seven furlongs, and walked off lame. Inducement has an injured foot. This has caused a sensation among racing men. He is engaged in the nine furlongs Chelmsford Stakes next Saturday. COMMITTEE GRANT TO WESTPORT CLUB At a meeting of the Auckland Racing Club Committee yesterday, a sum of £25 was donated toward the appeal being made on behalf of the Westport Jockey Club, whose buildings suffered in the earthquake.
