ROTORUA EXTOLLED
‘’WORLD’S BEST,” SAYS AMERICAN VISITOR FOURTH TIME IN NEW ZEALAND “I have been to baths and spas all over the world, but I don’t know anything equal to Rotorua. It stands at the top of the tree.” Such is the opinion of Mr. s. H Barlow, manager of the Sun Lif e Insurance Company of Canada, at Colombo. Ceylon, who arrived at Auckland by the Makura this morning. “I visited the Rotorua baths in 1922, weighing 15 stone 1211 b,” said Mr. Barlow. “When I loft I weighed only 12 stone 101 b. There was such a big change in me that my personal servant and nty driver who came down to meet me at Colombo, didn’t recognise me.” Mr. Barlow was so impressed with Rotorua that he bought two acres ot land adjoining the golf links. He himself, is an enthusiastic golfer. Mr. Barlow, who is an American citizen, has resided in Colombo for 15 years. “A. fine place, with wonder, ful people, and everything very prosperous,” he said. This is his fourth trip to New Zealand. In 1907 he was connected with the Treasury Department in the Philippine Islands and paid a visit to the Dominion to get data for a report on agricultural banks and the post office savings bank. ln 1922 and 1926 he paid further visits, spending his time at Rotorua, for relief from rheumatism. Mr. Barlow, whose wife is arriving from America on the Niagara, expects to spend three or four months in the Dominion.
