TWENTY-FIRST BIRTHDAY
ENJOYABLE DANCE PARTY A very enjoyable 21st birthday party was given by Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Johns on September 4 in honour of the coming-of-age of their son Elga. For the occasion, the Penrith Tea Rooms were charmingly decorated with pink stocks, carnations, streamers and coloured lights. and dancing were enjoyed, music being supplied by Jack Swinburne’s orchestra. Airs. John received the guests, wearing a black satin and white georgette frock, relieved with diamente buckles. Miss ATvrtle Johns, who was helping to entertain, wore a dress of chartreuse green taffeta with cluster of roses at one side. Air. R. Rusten also gave an item which was much enjoyed. Among those present were:—Airs. Reid, who wore navy crepe de chine with lemon trimming; Airs. Ross, who bad chosen navy blue crepe de chine, with peach to tone; Mrs. Wilson, who had on a smart grey crepe de chine relieved with blue; Airs. Brooking, wearing green embossed georgette; Airs. Cole, in a pretty rose crepe de chine frock relieved with beads: Airs. Peterson, who wore a brown crepe de chine frock; Aliss Clare Thornley, who chose a salmon embossed georgette frock with uneven tulle hem; Aliss AI. Gordon, in black velvet with silver trimmings; Aliss N. Green, who had chosen mauve crepe de chine with silver lace; Aliss J. W. Jamieson, wearing a duchess* blue satin frock with uneven ankle hem of gold lace. Aliss Rewa Knight, who wore black satin charmeuse with rose shawl to tone; Aliss J. Alorgan, wearing blue velveteen with silk shawl to match; Miss N. A. Jacobsen, in salmon pink crepe de chine* Miss K. Jacobsen, peach pink crepe de chine with silver lace; Aliss C. Wilson, a midnight blue georgette frock with Spanish shawl to tone; Aliss J. Wilson, who wore a blue taffeta frock with silver lace trimmings; Miss AI. Wilson, in a frock of blue crepe de chine; Aliss AI. McKay, who chose delphinium blue crepe de chine; Miss E. George, in a white georgette frock trimmed with silver lace; Miss E. Holly, wearing cerise crepe de chine with shawl to tone; Aliss G. Ball, apricot satin frock with uneven hem; Miss L. Ashdown, green crepe de chine with mauve lace in an uneven hemline; Aliss A. Nightingale, wearing apple green georgette, with Spanish shawl to tone; Miss Zoe Hill, who had on a sea green shot taffeta of ankle length; Aliss Marie Bordeaux, who had chosen a rose coloured frock with uneven pointed hem; Miss P. Prideaux. who wore a lemon taffeta frock with shawl to tone; Miss G. Gallotte, in sea green tulle with diamente trimmings; Miss AI. Pitkethley, lime green satin with posy to tone; Aliss G. "Williams, who wore a daffodil satin frock with uneven hem; Miss F. Ball, in a salmon pink frock with a black shawl; Miss AI. Wickman, wearing black crepe de chine with Spanish shawl to tone.
