POLICE PATROL WANTED
DISCUSSION AT MT. EDEN That police protection In Mount Eden had not kept pace with the district’s development was the opinion voiced by members of the Mount Eden Borough Council at a meeting last evening. A complaint along these lines to the inspector of police had brought a reply to the effect that no legitimate grounds for complaint existed. Strong exception 'to this reply was taken by Cr. R. J. Mills, who mentioned several cases of burglaries among shops past the Bominion Road terminus, where the police beat ends al present. This was borne out by Crs W. H. Nagle, W. G. Lange and J. M. Melville. Crs. Lange and Nagle were appointed to lay specific complaints before the Auckland police with a vievs to having the beat extended.
