WALKED INTO ENGINE

WOMAN DIES FROM INJURIES Press Association INVERCARGILL, Monday. An extraordinary fatal accident occurred this afternoon. The express train from Invercargill to the north had reached a street level crossing when Mrs. Lawrence Ford, aged 72 years, who was proceeding across the intersection, walked into the side of the engine. She was hurled to one side. The train at once pulled up and the injured woman was conveyed to the Southland Hospital, where she died this evening.
