ROTORUA Patchy and obviously cautious golf was characteristic of the junior cup final between W. T. Pakes and Dudley George. Both played good tee shots, and were fair to the greens, but there, in the majority of cases, temperament on the greens proved too strong. Pakes was 2 up at the turn in the morning round, maintaining that lead to the 15th. George then annexed the last three holes to finish 1 up for the first IS. Pakes took the 19tli and the game fluctuated till the 15th, when George was 2 up. George lost the 16th and the 18th to square the match at the 36th.
