MORRISON BEATS TAYLOR A margin, of 23 points stood in fav- I our of E. J. Morrison when he reached I tho 500 mark in his billiards match j against F. Taylor at the showrooms ' of Messrs. Billiards, Limited, last ; evening. This match, which further reduced the Held for the Auckland amateur championship, found the Pukekohe champion in good form, and he made one very nice break of 59. Taylor played very consistently, and put up a plucky tight against a more experienced opponet. The final scores were:—E J. Morrison, 500 (breaks of 21, 30, 59, 22, 25, 21 and 23); F. Taylor. 477 (breaks of 21 and 45). Tonight E. V. Roberts will play W. E. Hackett. The draw for the semifinals is:—H. F. Valentine v. the winner of E. V. Roberts and W. E. Hackett and A. Bowie v. E. J. Morrison.
