FINAL EVIDENCE
ASIATICS INQUIRY IN AUCKLAND Valuable evidence on the intrusion of Asiatics among Maoris has been gained by the committee of inquiry* which today will complete five days of hearing testimony in Auckland. Tomorrow morning the hearing will be continued at the courthouse at Pukekohe. A finding revealing thorough investigation into the social problem is expected to be provided when the committee reports to the Minister of Native Affairs, Sir Apirana Ngata, on the points he prepared for inquiry. r Up to today, over 20 witnesses have given evidence. When the hearing is ended, an inspection will be carried out by the members of the committee, Dr. T. J. Hughes, medical officer of health, Mr. W. Slaughter, of the Labour Department, and Mr. Tukere Te Anga, of the Native Department, in Asiatic gardens in the vicinity of Auckland and Pukekohe.
