DEBATE GOES ON
AUSTRALIAN HOUSE HAS SAT FIFTY HOURS GOVERNMENT MAJORITY? (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.45 a.m. CANBERRA, Today. The debate on the Arbitration Bill, which involves the fate of the Federal Government was continued until a late hour this morning. At 4.30 a.m. the House had been sitting for 50 hours, equalling the previous record created in 1922. The Government is expected to have a majority on the voting, but several Nationalists have announced their intention of suporting Mr. W. M. Hughes.
An amendment is that the Bill be held in abeyance until the electors have been consulted.
