MARY BOOTH RESIGNS
SALVATION ARMY IN GERMANY NEW LEADER CHOSEN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) BERLIN, Friday. Commander Mary Booth is retiring from the leadership of the Salvation Army in Germany. She will be succeeded by Commander Bruno Friedrich, a German, who is head of the Salvation Army in Czecho-Slovakia. Commander Mary Booth will return to London, and will place herself at the disposal of headquarters. She says she may resign from the Army altogether. She is prepared to work under a General, whether he he German, English, or Japanese, but the committee form of administration is totally unsuitable for the Salvation Army.

Commander Mary Booth is the second daughter of the late General Bramwell Booth. She entered the Army in 1907, and has worked in Canada, and did war work in France, and was awarded the C.B.E. She was a corps commander fox- some years before going to Germany.
Commander Bruno Friedrich joined the Army at Winnipeg, Canada, in ISB7. He has sei-ved in Canada, the States, India, Australia and China,
