TUEBSTER pleaded not guilty to a " charge of breaking the terms of her probation order and Major Annie Gordon, probation officer, reported on accused. The woman had been admitted to five years’ probation by the late Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in 1926. She had not complied with the conditions imposed on her and her conduct had been most unsatisfactory. Webster: I have reported. Major Gordon admitted that that was so, but assured the Bench that the woman had been taking drugs, drinking and going to races. “I am going to give her a choice between the island and gaol,” said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Webster chose gaol and a remand was made until Monday, so that details of the original charge could be available for accused’s sentence.
