CARGO FROM NEW YORK.—The A. and A. Line chartered steamer Armidale is to sail from New York on October 22 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. NUCULA SAILS. The Royal Fuel Auxiliary Nucula cleai'ed port this morning for San Francisco to take in a cargo of fuel oil for the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. KAWATIRI SAILS.—To load coal for Auckland, the Union Company’s collier Kawatiri was dispatched from Auckland yesterday afternoon for Gladstone, Queensland. She is due back here about September 21. KAIMANAWA FROM PAGO PAGO.— The Union Company dispatched the collier Kainianawa from Auckland last evening for Westport, where she will load a full cargo of coal for Suva and Pago Pago. BROCKABECK FROM SEYCHELLES. —The steamer Brockabeck is expected at Bluff from Seychelles Islands at an early date. The vessel will unload 5,000 tons of phosphates at Bluff. Her movements afterwards have not been announced. TAHITI FOR 'FRISCO.—En route from Sydney, the Union Company’s R.M.S. Tahiti is due at Wellington early on Monday morning. At three o’clock the following afternoon the vessel sails for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco. KING WILLIAM AT CHELSEA. — Messrs. Watkin and Wallis advise that the motor ship King William, at present at Chelsea Wharf discharging raw sugar from Java, is to sail from here next Thursday. Her destination has not yet been announced. WARNING TO MARINERS. ~ The Marine Department advises mariners that the iron pipe lighted beacon, recently installed on Channel Rock, Foveaux Strait, near Bluff Harbour, has become submerged at its site, and is now marked temporarily by a small buoy. HURUNUI CLEARED COLON.—Reported to have cleared Colon last Wednesday, the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Hurunui is en route from Auckland to London. She was dispatched from Auckland for New York, Boston, and London on August 10. MELBOURNE SERVICE.—The Union Company’s passenger steamer Manuka arrived at Wellington this morning from Melbourne, via Southern ports. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel at five o'clock this afternoon for Melbourne direct. MAKURA LEAVES SYDNEY.—According to cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company, the intercolonial passenger steamer Makura left Sydney at three o’clock yesterday afternoon for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday morning. She has been I allotted a berth at the Queen’s Wharf. TAIROA’S AGENTS.—Advice has been received by L. D. Nathan and Co. that the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s steamer Tairoa, which was dispatched from Liverpool last Saturday afternoon for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, will come to their agency. She is expected here about October 8. MAUNGANUI LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO.—With passengers, mail and cargo Mail liner Maunganui is reported to have for New Zealand and Australia, the Royal cleared San Francisco for Papeete, Rarotonga, Wellington and Sydney on Wednesday. She is scheduled to reach Wellington on September 23, and Sydney five days later. MAUI POMARE R ET U R N S.—From Apia, Samoa, and Niue Island, via Lyttelton and Wellington, the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare returned to Auckland last evening, and berthed at the King’s Wharf. At three o’clock on Monday afternoon the vessel leaves Auckland with passengers, mails, and cargo for Norfolk Island. Spedding, Ltd., is acting as the local agent. ROTORUA DELAYED.—A further radio message received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the liner Rotorua, en route from London and Southampton, is meeting with bad weather, and is now expected to arrive at Wellington tomorrow morning instead of this morning. Besides passengers and mails for disembarkation at Wellington, the vessel has cargo for discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Bluff. WAIPAHI AT COOK ISLANDS—Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi arrived at Rarotonga last Wednesday afternoon from Auckland. After discharging and loading at Aitutaki, Mauke, and Atiu, she is due to return to Auckland about September 17. The company advises that the ; vessel is scheduled to sail on her return ! trip to Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Mauke, and i Atiu on September 19.

CANADIAN HIGHLANDER SAILS.— At 6.30 p.rn. yesterday the Canadian Highlander cleared port for New York, Boston, and Montreal, having completed her loading for those ports at King’s Wharf. AORANGI DUE 5 P.M. TOMORROW — According to a radio message received I by the local office of the Union Com- i pany, the R.M.M.S. Aorangi, from Van- j couver and way ports, is due at Auck- i land at 5 p.m. tomorrow. About 6.30 p.m. she will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. At 11 p.m. on Monday she sails again for Sydney. CITY OF LINCOLN REPORTS.—According to a radio message received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, the A. and A. Bine’s chartered steamer City of Lincoln, en route from New York and Suva, is due at Auckland at 4 a.m. on Monday. She later berths at the Queen’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete. FURTHER RADIO FROM CANADIAN CHALLENGER.—The local office of the Canadian National Steamships has received a radio message from the master of the Canadian Challenger, Inward bound from Quebec, stating the position of his vessel, judging from which it is expected that she will make port late on Monday night or early on Tuesday morning. The Canadian Challenger has been allotted a berth at Prince’s Wharf, where she W’ill unload the local portion of her cargo, and sail later for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin to complete discharging. WITHIN RANGE— The following vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations during the week-end:— Auckland.—Aorangi, Nucula, Tregonnell, Makura, City of Lincoln, Kawatiri, Canadian Challenger, Wirral, Ullmaroa, Tofua, Moeraki, Narbada, Scotscraig. Chatham Islands.—Tamaroa, Callandria. Wellington.—Maori, Wahlne, Arahura, Ngaio, Tasmania, Rotorua, Hororata, Maheno, Niagara, Brunswick, Emile DeDutsche de la Meurthe, Kaitoki, Kairanga, Manuka, Northumberland, Pakipaki, Tahiti. Awarua.—Tahiti, Hertford, Svolder, Kaitangata, Karetu, Maunganui, Wairuna, Kaiapoi, C. A. Larsen. PORT OF ONEHUNGA—ARRIVALS TO-DAY ; NGAPUHI (7.30 a.m.), 703 tons, Bark, j from New Plymouth. ! HAUTURU. due from Hokianga at six o’clock tomorrow morning, is to sail for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads at i 4 p.m. on Monday. HOKIANGA is sailing early this afternoon from Auckland for Hokianga, and returns to Onehunga, from there to resume her running in the Hokianga service, her annual overhaul being completed. KAITOA is due in port on Monday from New Plymouth to load for Nelson and Motueka under the agency of Russell and Somers. NGAPUHI arrived this morning from New Plymouth. At 3 p.m. on Monday she is to be dispatched on the return trip.
