At the Prince Edward Theatre this evening the films are “The Battle of the Sexes” (a D. W. Griffith picture starring Phyllis Haver and Jean Hersholt), “Smashing Through” (a motor racing story), and “California Mail” (Ken Maynard). The Grey Lynn Cinema is showing “The Far Call” (a sea tale starring Leila Hyams and Charles Morton) and “The Whirl of Life” (a tale of circus tape-ze artists starring Fay Malten). At the Parish Hall, Devonport, the firms are “The House or Horror” (Chester Conklin in a mystery thriller) and “The Girl on the Barge” (Sally O’Neill and Jean Hersholt). At the Foresters’ Hall, Birkenhead, the films are “The Woman From Luna” (Mary Astor) and “Rolled Stockings” (a college story of youth with Louise Brooks and Richard Arlen).
