WHERE METEORITE FELL

MANGERE WOMAN’S STORY LONG, BLAZING TAIL The meteorite reported in yesterday’s Sun to have been seen by two policemen in Edendale, was also seen by Mrs. W. W. Massey, of Buckland Road, Mangere. Mrs. Massey happened to look out of her window about 10.15 on Thursday night, when her attention was attracted by what she described as a large ball of fire with a blazing tail of considerable length. The glow lit up the whole sky. She believes, however, that the meteorite fell considerably nearer Mangere than Edendale.

“Indeed,” said Mrs. Massey to a Sun representative, “I would not be surprised to hear it landed on our farm, so close to the house did it appear to be.”
