PRICES TOO HIGH
WHY BUTCHER FAILED (From, Our Oicn Correspondent) HAMILTON, Today. Keen competition and the high price of beef last winter were said by Henry Collins, butcher, of Ngaruawahia, to be responsible for h!s appearance in the bankruptcy court at Hamilton yesterday. His schedule showed debts amounting to £432 and assets valued at £289, a deficit of £143. Collins said he was financed by Mr. W. D. Thomas, of Ngaruawahia, to whom he paid varying sums over the amount owing for stock supplied him. He did not know how much he had paid as Thomas never rendered him accounts. The business was sold last February for £3OO. The meeting was adjourned, os bankrupt’s books were not availably.
