WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MONTHLY MEETING OF HENDERSON BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Henderson Women’s Institute was held on Tuesday. Airs. Robb presided, and there was a good attendance of members, several visitors from the newlyformed institute at New Lynn also being present. Airs. W. IT. Parkes, of Auckland, gave an interesting and enjoyable address on “Club Life in New Zealand and Abroad,” and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Airs. Parkes by an appreciative audience. Aliss Duncan and Airs. Robb won the prizes in the marmalade competition, for which there were several entries. The hostesses were Airs. Laurie and Mrs. Pollock. Alisses P. and L. Ozich contributed a pianoforte duct, and after the business of the institute had been discussed the singing of the National Anthem closed a very enjoyable meeting.
