“REDSKIN” i A picture in which natural colours ' and unusual sound effects have been | combined to great advantage. “Redi skin,” is now in its second week at the* j Plaza Theatre. Released from the Paramount studios, “Redskin” w?us j directed by Victor Schertzinger. who ! was largely responsible for the sue- , cess of ‘ Forgotten Faces" and many other enjoyable Paramount tilms. In ! his latest production the director has i included some of tlio most beautiful scenic effects ever filmed, and as toe greater part of the film has been photographed in colour it should provide an unusual attraction. The film was : made in the Xavajo reservation in north-eastern Arizona, where some ol the most majestic scenery in America ; is to be found. “Redskin” is the drama ol' a race ; of people, clinging to old traditions yet seeking to adapt themselves to the new. It is the struggle of youth against the caution of age: of youth seeking release from the chains of tribal custom. It is the romance of j a boy and a girl of rival tribes .sep- ' a rated by generations of ill-feeling * between their ancestors, who learn to ! love and rise above the restrictions of : i their environment. Richard Dix plays the leading i - with beautiful Gladys Belmont. a newcomer to leading parts, opposite him. Dix has a dramatic role and the | picture is a perfect vehicle for him. 1 Hundreds of Indians appear in the i parts. The cast contains many well ! known names, such as that of Tully I Marshall. A most enjoyable programme of short ! talkie features is also being shown. : \ i
