YOUTH INJURED
THREE FINGERS AMPUTATED As the result of his left hand becoming caught in the mechanism of | a lift yesterday afternoon, three fingers were lost by Charles Greenslade, j IS, employed at the premises of ! Bond and Bond, Ltd., Commerce j Street. Greenslade, who was working at the j top of the lift shaft at the time of j the accident, had his hand on one of j the cables. The machinery started j and his hand was badly mutilated \ between the cable and the lift Wheel, j The fourth finger, which was also j badly torn, did not require amputa- j tion. The injured youth, who lives in I Newington Road. Henderson, was re- j moved to the Auckland Hospital by j the St. John Ambulance. His condi- : tion is reported to be satisfactory.
