PAKURANGA HUNT
MEET AT HOMAI SCARCITY OF HARES Adverse weather conditions and the scarcity of hares, at the meet of the Pakuranga Hunt held at Homai oil Tuesday, did not contribute toward a very successful or enjoyable day’s sport. The pack turned into Air. Alexander’s property and worked round through into All*. Clutha Alackenzie’s, and then on to Airs. Palmer’s farm, where the pack located the only quarry of the day. It took the field for a sharp spin across Air. Me Anally’s farm, and through on to Air. Roger’s, where it turned back into Mr. McAnally’s, and led the way on to the Weymouth Road, where some cattle spoiled the line. The hounds soon had the quarry on the run again, but it reached barred country, and the pack was called off. The field returned to Air. AlcAlaster’s property, but met with no success after drawing over a lot of country.
At the conclusion of the meet, the followers were entertained at afternoon tea by the Alisses C. and E. Alartin, at their home at Wiri. Air. Wills McLaughlin, field master, thanked thenhostesses for their hospitality.
