WATER FOR WAIUKU

PROGRESS OF SCHEME A special meeting of the Waitiku Town Board was held on Tuesday. Mr. J. J. A. James presiding. Tire clerk of works reported that the contractor had completed the trench for five-inch water mains in Queen Street and that the contractor for the Kitchener Road work was now making satisfactory progress, the four-inch main being now well past the hospital. The reservoir contract is now nearing completion, and the plastering should be finished in seven to ten days. The bore for the second well has now reached a depths of 69ft 6in and the hard rock has been struck.
