WESTFIELD STOCK SALE WESTFIKLD, 2.30 p.m. . A short yarding of approximately wOhead of fat cattle came forward to the Westfield sale today. The market held firm at late rates, best ox making up to 445; best young cow and heifer beef made to 425. indicating that available supplies are getting within short compass, the ;a:ding was drawn mostly from nearAucklacd pastures. No lines of Bay Plenty or Wairarapa cattle were 'o:ward. North Auckland vendors 'rere also poorly represented. An offering of approximately 236 tad of steers met with a steady sale. Tlu quality was only fair. While t'.ire a good percentage of big::uned well-finished cattle, choice quality* young steers were not largely to evidence. There was a steady deaand throughout. Top price of the day was secured a line of heavy-boned well-finished reerg on account of a Te Awamutu rendor, one pen of which went to Varies Robertson, Glen Eden, for £22 :s 6d. Stott, Birkenhead. , Twenty well-finished -medium to cattle on account of a ''iikato vendor made from £ls 10s to -20 7s 6d.
