TROTTING LADS AT PLAY
W' TH the bencfit fixture, and its attendant keen t-aining operations over, trotting jockeys are this week turning their attention to another recreative channel, and on Wednesday afternoon at Carlaw Park will engage in a Rugby League match with the Barmen's thirteen. The latter have already shown good form at the ball game this season, but the trotting lads have some “dark horses" in their ranks, and the Epsom enthusiasts are capable of bringrna off a surprise in this direction. While they may not be able to field any special football stars, the trotters have an even-gaited combination, and given a clear run on Wednesday will keep the representatives of the trade busy, and under “Tartar’* Julian’s tuition, they may eventually squeeze home in a tight finish.
