100 MOSLEMS KILLED BY TROOPS BEDOUINS DISPERSED (Australian and N.Z . Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 11 a.m. JERUSALEM, Sun. A Royal Air Force machine dispersed the Bedouins who crossed the Jordan. Two of their emirs were arrested. The disorders are spreading to B'rut, Damascus, and the Jewish colonies in Northern Galilee. Yessodhamala has been looted. The Bedouins were from Syria and Sinai and the Transjordan. They threatened to march on Palestine. A demonstration by airmen in 12 airplanes was made over Jerusalem. At the time Moslems were coming from the Mosque of Omar after the midday prayers. Flying at a great height the aviators "dipped their machines in spectacular style over the Mount of Olives, repeating the manoeuvre frequently. Three airplanes constantly swooped down over the Mosque of Omar. All departed when the congregation at the mosque had dispersed. A British Official Wireless message says the Colonial Office states that considerable forces of Arabs are reported to have crossed the Syrian frontier into Palestine. Aircraft have been dispatched to check their progress. CASUALTY LIST The official communiques put the casualties so far as follow: —Killed: 63 Moslems, 4 Christians. 91 Jews. Wounded: 113 Moslems, 0 Christians, 150 Jews. Now, in addition, it is estimated that there have been 100 Moslems killed and 300 wounded in the repressive measures. A Colonial Office communique says British troops hold all the important centres between Safed and Beersheba. This area is reported to be quiet. A courageous aviator landed at Caza and has reported that 10 Jews were killed and 29 wounded, and two Moslems killed and four wounded in yesterday’s outbreak at Safed. All the aircraft of the fleet air arm carried by H.M.S. Courageous have been landed at Gaza. Ten Jews are reported killed and 129 wounded, and 12 Moslems killed and 4 wounded in the disorders at Safed, reported in Saturday’s statement. GRAND MUFTI’S WARNING PROTEST AGAINST BALFOUR DECLARATION (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. The special Jerusalem correspondent of the “Daily Express” had a conversation with the Grand Mufti, who said: —“This is not a Wailing Wall affair; it is a serious national revolution, the reverberations of which may soon be heard In every corner of Moslem Arabia. We will not oppose British bayonets, but ultimate peace is impossible while Britain persists in the unjust and illegal Balfour Declaration.” The Egyptian Nationalist Party at a meeting decided to send a cablegram to the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations urging it to convince Britain of the necessity of withdrawing the Balfour Declaration. The Nationalists contend that it is the cause of the bloodshed in Palestine. Indian Moslems residing in Egypt have decided to cable to the League protesting against Jewish attacks on Arabs and against the alleged partiality of the authorities, who are helping the Jews. It is reported that during the Moslem demonstrations at Bagdad a Jew, in self-defence, wounded an Arab. The crowd seized the Jew. The police I charged and 10 Moslems were killed. “WRONG ORIGIN” VATICAN ORGAN’S VIEW OF SITUATION (United Service) LONDON. Saturday. The Rome correspondent of the i “Manchester Guardian” says the Vatij can’s organ, “Osservatore Romano,” ; comments on the disturbances in Palestine. It says: “It is not merely a question of suppressing the uprisings, but rather of remedying a situation which was wrong in its origin.”
