GRAND AND LYRIC
“A GIRL IN EVERY PORT” Howard Hawks has turned out another striking success in “A Girl in Every Port,” Fox Films, now being screened at both the Grand and Lyric Theatres. This time it is a yarn about a hard-fisted, soft-hearted first mate of a tramp schooner, who gets himself into no end of difficulties through his romantic adventures in every port of call. Victor McLaglen, of “What Price Glory?” fame, is featured in the story, with" Robert Armstrong following him through the production, first as his enemy, then as his buddy. Eight leading women are another novel feature, each recognised as a real beauty. Howard Hawks, in addition to directing, is the author of the original story on which the picture is based. “Joy Street,” the second feature at both theatres, is a delightful comedydrama starring Lois Moran and Nick Stuart.
