■ George Cook (Australia) is to fight Young Stribling today at Macon, Georgia, instead of at Atlanta. The South African cricketers on ; Saturday began a match at West Bridgford against Mr. J. Calin’s XI. South Africa in the first innings had made 15S for three (Morkel 52, not out), when rain stopped play.
The French swimming champion, Jean Taris, was to have met Arne Borg on Saturday and yesterday in the 400 metres arid 800 metres races. However, Taris developed appendicitis, and both the matches have been postponed indefinitely.
