ENDURANCE RECORD COSTS LIFE ONLY FEW DAYS MARRIED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Saturday. A shocking flying fatality occurred at Cleveland, Ohio. Thomas G. Reid, f Downey, California, made a new world’s solo endurance flight record last evening, beating Lieutenant Fahy’s record of 36 hours 25 minutes 31 seconds. Son after Reid had passed that mark the sound of his airplane ceased to be heard over the airport. This morning searchers found the wrecked airplane and the body of the pilot in Lorain Woods, west of the city. Apparently Reid fell and crashed into a tree. Deceased was married in California the (lay before he left for the races at Cleveland. He hoped to break the record and to use the prize-money in taking his bride on a delayed honeymoon.
