SUBSTITUTES FOR “TALKIES”

\ CAMPAIGN has begun in the pages of English journals to abolish the use of the word “talkies/' which is considered ugly and unnecessarily colloquial. “Talkers" is the substitute adopted by one prominent London newspaper.
