“SCRAPE 0’ THE PEN”

ST. ANDREW’S SOCIETY TO PRESENT AMUSING PLAY The St. Andrew’s Society will present Graham Mofiatt’s delightful Scottish comedy in three acts, “A Scrape o’ the Pen,” at the concert chamber on September 25, 26, 27, and 28. It will be remembered that the society last year produced “Bunty Pulls the Strings,” by the same author. The results were most gratifying—so much so that it has decided this year to give an altogether more ambitious production. Great pains are being taken to make 1 A Scrape o’ the Pen” a success. Profiting by last year’s experience, the committee intends to leave nothing to chance to make this play something to be proud of. The scenes and the dresses have already received a considerable amount of attention, and the society has again engaged Mr. Kenneth Brampton as producer. Many people are of the opinion, that “A Scrape o’ the Pen” is a better comedy than “Bunty Pulls the Strings.” Certain it is that the play abounds with Scottish humour. An excellent cast is now hard at work rehearsing, and the Scots of Auckland may look forward with happy anticipation to seeing this play.
